Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 14, 2026

Clawlet is a self-hosted AI chat interface. Your privacy is fundamental to how it works — your data stays on your server, under your control.

How Clawlet Works

Clawlet connects to an OpenClaw gateway that you (or a family member) host on your own hardware. The app is a client — it does not operate servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure on your behalf.

Data We Collect

None. Clawlet does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. Specifically:

Data on Your Server

Conversations, files, and settings are stored on the OpenClaw gateway you connect to. This server is operated by whoever invited you (typically a family member or friend). We have no access to it.

AI Model Providers

When you chat, your messages are processed by the AI model configured on the gateway (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). These API calls are made directly from the gateway to the provider — Clawlet does not proxy or intercept them. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle API data.

Photos and Media

If you share images, they are sent directly to the gateway you're connected to. Clawlet does not store copies or transmit them elsewhere. Image compression happens entirely on your device before upload.

Network Connections

The app connects only to the gateway URL provided during setup. No other network connections are made by the app.

Children's Privacy

Clawlet does not collect data from anyone, including children. The content and safety of AI conversations depend on the gateway configuration set by the person who hosts it.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Since we don't collect contact information, we can't notify you directly — check back if you're curious.
